Assessment of methodological quality in DTA reviews

This is a recorded video slidecast presentation by Lotty Hoof, deputy director of Cochrane Netherlands, delivered at a two-day workshop hosted by Cochrane Netherlands.

Methodological quality in the context of diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) reviews refers both to risk of bias and applicability of included studies. This presentation explains why and how to assess the quality of DTA studies. Key features of DTA study design are described, with examples to illustrate different sources of risk of bias. Finally, QUADAS-2 tool for assessing the methodological quality of DTA studies is presented.
