Formulating a Cochrane DTA Review question

This lesson is part of an introductory series developed by Cochrane Screening & Diagnostic Test Methods Group to support authors in the production of DTA reviews. A full list of currently available or planned lessons is available here.

This lesson explains why it is important to adequately formulate a DTA review question and defines the components of such a question. It points out that defining the clinical testing pathway is a critical component of question formulation for a test accuracy review. Finally, the lesson uses examples to illustrate how DTA review questions are transformed into DTA review title formats in Review Manager.

After using this resource, you should be able to...
  • Define the components of a DTA review question
  • Understand what is meant by a clinical testing pathway
  • Identify the standard DTA titles available for use in Review Manager
  • Describe the importance of formulation of DTA review questions for other steps in a DTA review
